Matrix HR Together – Offering Businesses Peace Of Mind
Employers face ever increasing challenges from complex and rapidly changing employment legislation, increased rights for employees and legal requirements for employers.
Matrix and HR Together have teamed up to provide an invaluable service to assist with human resource and employment legislation challenges. We aim to ensure that you have legally compliant practices and procedures in place to deal fairly with employees, to support business productivity and to avoid potentially costly legal actions:
- The average award in 2009 / 2010 for unfair dismissal claims was £9,120*
- Average awards for discrimination claims ranged from £4,886 to £52,087 (disability claims)*
- In February 2011, the maximum compensatory award for unfair dismissal was increased to £68,400
- Compensatory awards for discrimination claims are unlimited.
These figures do not account for the cost of an employer’s time in dealing with employment challenges or preparing and defending employment claims. The current economic climate has resulted in increased dismissals (especially redundancies) and subsequently claims: the number of employment tribunal claims in 2009 / 2010 increased by 56% from the previous year.*
